 The Internet is being used by otherwise intelligent people including congress people, teachers, lawyers, and other professionals for legal yet embarrassing activities shows the potential dark side of the digital world. Many Americans participate in behaviors that while not legal others would not approve. When I heard the news I was wondering if he was going to able to look at himself in the mirror seriously after being nabbed and exposed in lewd activities  I felt uncomfortable and embarrassed to view this behavior questioning where this shadow side was coming from and who is the real Anthony Wiener. Are these actions potentially a sexual addiction which requires treatment? He has always appeared to me as a dynamic, intelligent, energetic politician who despite the fact that many might not agree with his positions he is always seemed ready willing and able to fight the good fight for his constituents appropriately.

Congressman Weiner's real sin is that he lied to reporters and his constituents. He should have just stayed quiet and moved on because many will use this incident to knock his credibility. Most likely,  we know this is an area where just about every human being would panic and likely would have behaved the same way .We all have had embarrassing moments we would have wished to take with varying degrees of consequences,,. Big boys/ intelligent boys can make the stupidest mistakes. Big time.

Ok so here we are again, another political scandal driven by the media. Despite this disappointing vulgar display that Congressman Weiner demonstrated, I am pleading with you that for once we spend less time nailing the nails harder, stoning him harder and watch as he implodes .We as community must unite to offer him an opportunity to redeem himself.  I strongly believe that there is a lot of redeeming value in Anthony Weiner .I strongly believe the good outweighs the bad. Ultimately his biggest victim is himself. Instead of providing a gnarly rope for him to hang himself, we offer genuine hand to help this flawed man who has done so many positive things in these most difficult times. What is to gain by destroying Anthony Weiner? Will it make for a better community? Will it makes better people?

For once, let’s turn this ugly incident around despite the fact that throughout history public hangings or stoning have always been well attended   Why do we get so much satisfaction watching this cruel display? Why can’t we offer support, reconciliation and understanding too?  The self-righteous joy that is typically evoked when we see the high and mighty fall is almost as equally perverse than some of his indiscretions. I think we might just feel even better if instead of the sadistic satisfaction of stoning a pretty good guy who has been fighting for us in the political realm, we find what is really going on with him and offer support We have all made foolish mistakes of varying degrees.

Many want Congressman Weiner to resign. Based on all information provided, he has done nothing illegal. The fact that he has admitted to lying should be atonement enough.  I live in Forest Hills and I have had only positive experiences with Anthony Weiner. I have often seen him at synagogue functions expressing his unwavering support to Israel and his office has always been there for me and my family. During a medical crisis a few years back his office helped us find insurance to cover the hospital stay otherwise we would have been in serious financial hardship coupled with a lengthy recuperation. His staff was friendly, bright, and sharp and motivated to help in any way they could.

The media often acts like publicists to a hanging, stoning or gladiators they often perpetuate rather than ameliorate the problem.  The media acts like the great Emperors of public opinion in the coliseum. Thumbs up or thumbs down?  Should we feed him to the lions? Let’s show the world we have grown, matured evolved and more spiritually empathetic from those days and not give in to our propensity for the voyeuristic pleasure of watching someone fall from grace without offering to slow the descent.   Given the average Americans' tendency to believe misleading advertising, there is a concern that Congressman Weiner will become an uncomfortable inconvenient distraction –a political liability for the democratic party. Even his own democratic party and colleagues aren’t sticking by him.  Some might argue that democratic party itself is a political liability for many reasons. Why scapegoat Anthony Weiner for the challenges and failings of the democratic party because his off hours social misconduct. That is between him and his wife and perhaps his future lawyer

I proudly offer Congress Weiner thumbs up and my friendship, and support despite this shadow side of ugly behavior but please find some other outlets when you are alone bored and your wife is not available. It might take courage to get treatment for these tasteless self-defeating behaviors, but others have. This dark side is a "black bag we drag behind us," in the words of poet Robert Bly. You chose to animate it on the internet with dangerous cyber sexual liaisons. As a politician you ran the risk of being totally defined by your dark shadows as everything is magnified and politicalized.   You are a better man this. Come back to your positive light by showing us how to move on lead by example by moving forward; politically effective no matter what. There is a lot of work to be done to keep you and other politicians busy to avoid trouble for a long while.  Despite the media, Despite the democratic party. And most important despite these behaviors.

Zuma out of town not to frown

Alone at home

 Roaming the net

for royal harems,concubines, and courtesans

fiddling about in  cheap thrills

on the sofa with his laptop computer

Cyber flashing some groupie cuties ,

instant dashings of carnal crudity

appears on screens everywhere on the air

He can no longer refute

Off duty still in hot political pursuit

for votes in virtual space

just keeping the pace in this upstream race

while lusting gigabytes of digitalized lust

are spawned everywhere

Nighttime is for unzipping the files of the shadow self,

That split the light of any political considerations

Flying high as his life

is about to unravel with lies

on the world wide web of deceit

as the national debt remains high
